Free Throw Contest 2020
The annual Knight’s of Columbus Free Throw Contest is underway. Coaches, please provide the winner(s) from your team to compete against other Team winners from CCOP. For any questions contact Mark Worrell Please send Mark the name and age group of your winners with their family contact email and phone number (cell if available) along with your team number. Here’s how it works:
1.       They compete by Age (as of January 1) and Gender.
2.       It is open to ages 9-10-11-12-13-14, and we also have a local contest for 8 year olds. Each team sends a winner by age so some teams may have multiple winners.
3.       Each player on your team shoots 15 free throws and those who make highest number per age wins. If there is a tie, they shoot sets of 5 more until there is a winner. You can do this at practice, or however you designate, getting it done by Thursday, January 16, 2020. Notify Mark, above with the winner’s contact information as soon as you have it and make sure they know to show up on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
4.       Ball - All Girls players and Boys players through 11 years old use the 28.5 size ball. Boys 12 and older use full-size ball.
5.       Ages under 12 use a 12-foot distance but can use 15 feet if they prefer. All 12 and older use 15 feet.
6.       Winners will compete at St. Elizabeth Seton gym on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 4:00. If your team winner cannot make it, send the runner-up.
7.       Winners locally will move on to the District Championship on Sunday, February 23 at St. Elizabeth Seton gym and then potentially further if they win there.
