The Oakland Diocese and the Catholic Community of Pleasanton are looking forward to a return this fall to our full CYO basketball program for boys and girls of all backgrounds and skill levels in grades 3-8.  As in the past, we expect to offer competition with teams in our Tri-Valley League from Danville, Livermore, San Ramon and Dublin, as well as some opportunities to play teams outside of the Tri-Valley.  As in the past, our program is available to:

Registration is expected to start in August of 2022 via our website at ccopcyo.org.

TRACK & FIELD and CROSS COUNTRY
More current information to follow in coming months.

What is the Team philosophy?
The CYO track and field and cross country programs are run as part of the Catholic Youth Organization within the Oakland Diocese. It is not limited to Catholics, but we foster a Christian environment in practice and during the meets. All meets and many practices will include a prayer.

The athletic philosophy is athlete first and winning second. This philosophy means that learning, improving, and having fun are much more important than winning. Winning is not ignored, but it isn't emphasized as our primary goal. As a result we do not track attendance at practices or the meets. The primary words that capture the essence of our program are: attitude, courtesy and respect.

What qualifies an athlete to be a team member?
The criteria to be a member of the CCOP’s track and field/cross country teams are as follows:
1) Live in Pleasanton, Sunol, or Dublin OR
2) Be a member of the Catholic Community of Pleasanton Parish OR
3) Be a member of the St. Raymond's Parish OR
4) Attend a parish’s CCD program (for past year)  AND
5) Have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE  (NO WHINING PLEASE!)
